Riley Seitz graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor's degree in microbiology. Her interest in brewing is largely due to her father's involvement in the industry since the late 80s. She joined Surly Brewing Company in 2015 and helped establish Surly's quality program. She and her team recently had the opportunity to build a lab from scratch at Surly's original brewery in Brooklyn Center. Surly's quality program has been utilizing PCR as a major part of its microbiological testing since November 2016.
