Alex Veneman received a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY; a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona; and took a postdoctoral position at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. His research centered on waveguide-based optical sensors and surfaces and interfaces related to solar cells. After working as an environmental engineering consultant at Trinity Consultants he fulfilled his dream by taking a position at the Celis Brewery in Austin, Texas. There he built out the laboratories and the quality management system, which he continues to oversee. Alex is a member of the ASBC.
