Caren McNamara founded Conscious Container because she was frustrated with throwing away glass bottles that could be reused in their original mold. After more than a year of due diligence, Caren found that craft brewers and consumers voiced strong support for a returnable bottle solution. In early 2017, Conscious Container was launched as a California Benefit Corporation to pilot and deliver a returnable/refillable glass bottle marketplace here in the U.S. Her passion for reuse has brought together a collaboration of key industry, craft brewing, community, and policy stakeholders who are co-creating a returnable craft beer bottle marketplace.
